Trails close to Vicenza

Hi everybody

I am an exchange student here in Italy, I will be here for 10 months and I am now concidering getting my bike shipped down from my home in Norway. I live with a family in Caldogno near Vicenza.
Although if I am going to ship the bike down I want to know if it is any trails close to Vicenza and Caldogno, are there? I don't have access to a car so close is important.
Any of you guys doing mountainbiking around here?
Any locals who know of bike shops in Vicenza? I know there is one in Caldogno but are there any in the city, if yes where?

hi,
in the area of Colli Berici you will find a lot of trails and also a lot of people to ride with.

About the shops, i suggest you Cicli Hermes or 111 bikes, which are in town.

The covert is a good bike to have fun in COlli Berici's trails...

beh, i trail più vicini sono quelli di isola vicentina/Costabissara, e quindi Gabry potrebbe essere di aiuto.....se è connesso....

As far as I understand the last post, there are some trails around vicentina/Costabissara right? That sounds a bit easier than Colli Berici.

I am hoping to get the bike shipped down as soon as possible but it mey take some time.
Beppogatto: Could you show me where those shops are in a map (google maps for example)?

About the trails the best solution is to find someone to ride with; maybe Gabry could helps you

Is the costabike event (http://www.montagnaviva.org/costabike 2008.pdf) only a meetup to go for a long ride or is anything else happening? I don't have my bike down yet so I won't be able to go riding.
