Sorry for the intervention in english... I can read some italian but I can't write it to save my life. Sorry.
I have a Dual Position Air since December 2010.
The box came with fork, pump, star nut, like 4 0r 5 sets of decals in different colours and (useless) manual.
To shorten travel, you turn the adjuster and push down the fork. The fork will stay down.
To get it back to full travel, now that's another story. Mine used to spring back to full travel when NOT mounted to the bike. When mounted to the bike, you need to pull the bars for the fork to extend to 150mm. I can live with that, but it would be nice if
SRAM would explain exactly how it should work.
Mine had the FG knob improperly installed. It would turn only like half a turn. It is solved now after a 3min job and a 1.5mm allen wrench.
As I did not know if travel operation was normal and to load fresh oil in the lowers, I opened it. Here are the pictures...
It works by selecting one of two holes in a shaft. The upper one is for 120mm (I think), but there are some components under the topcap that I think are where the real travel change happens (pressure equalization between negative and positive chambers and there's gotta be a check valve somewhere in there).
I tried using gear oil instead of grease and now it works erratically. It could be a bad o-ring or some sticking valve... I don't know, but I would like someone to explain it to me.
Where's ClaudeFR when you need him??
Saluti!
