Are there any trails around Milan? I dont have a car here unforunatlly, can I take a bike into train? Thank you guys in advance :)

you can reply in italian and i can translate it on computer but I'd prefer english, thanks

Hi hemi!
Welcome to Italy and to Milan - I'm from Milan but now I moved to UK for study
Milan is plenty of bike stores, check the link that edosossi gives you. Unfortunately, there are not so many trails: actually, the only trails that you can reach directly with your bike are those in the Ticino Park, which are enjoyable but... absolutely flat. You should have a car to move to the nearby areas, but don't worry, if you get in touch with a bike store they usually have biker groups who will be more than happy to bring you with them; personally I suggest the Pro-M store (check www.pro-m.com). There is also a little bike park in the Monte Stella (should be around the QT8 station of the underground line 1, the red one. But I'm not sure), it could be good for meet other bikers or if you have little time. I know you can bring your bike into train but I don't know if you have to pay for it.
Hope this all helps ;-)

thanks guys for replies. While I was coming to Milan I thought Alps (sic!!) and everything but here in Milan it looks so damm flat and urbanized :( and I even havent found any good shops. I found Iron Horse dealer (I got Sunday which I love it) in Milan but when I went there I saw only small sticker on closed doors :(...
Thanks for those shops names-Im gonna check them up tomorrow. Anyway I wouldnt mind doing anything like even XC (thinking to buy some bike from decathlon) but I need to be sure theres where to go without a car...
If I want to come to Milan on summer with my dh rig how far are the closest bikeparks?

Welcome to Italy!
I'd suggest you to consider buying online, but I understand that service is important, so please wait for some members from Milan to show up.
I can help you with the trains... yes on some trains you are allowed to carry a bike (check the bicycle logo on trains composition panel at the station), but remember to pay the extra cost ;)

Yeah, in Italy the shops are closed on Sundays  The Alps are not so far actually, less than an our of travel, but unfortunately the best way to move in Italy is by car; trains from Milan to mountain resorts like Bergamo are reasonably convenient anyway, but the best solution would be for you to find a group to join in.
For dh, I think the closest bike park are Livigno, Bardonecchia, Finale Ligure and Mottarone (not sure there is a bike park there actually), which should all be between 1.30 and 3 hours of travel. You'd better ask in the DH area of this forum for that

Hi hemi427
there are no many place for DH but i can advice you a very wonderful place for XC (not flat) in Brianza named Montevecchia not too far from Milan and i think reachable by train.
there are many tracks (around 70-80 KM) in the wood with some descents that are no really downhill but quite techniques.
is better if you look on web for some group cycling in this place in order to join them because the place is wide and you can get lost.
